Editing progress has been slow but steady! Not quite “finished” like I had hoped to be, however.
With all the beta reader feedback in at the start of the month, I have been gradually working away at editing and rewriting certain scenes according to their recommendations. As of writing, the edits are very close to done but not quite finished. Presuming all goes well, they should all be fully completed in another week.
And so, according to the timeline, some time next month it will be when the editors look over The Manuscript for a final round of grammatical and spelling errors once these major edits are complete.
I’m so close to having everything finished! At least on the writing side. And that means the title reveal will be happening within the next few months, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
Summer Timeline:
Editing Stage 1 — early June: Finishing the final major edits to The Manuscript based off of the beta reader feedback.
Editing Stage 2 — late June & July: The Manuscript will be sent off to editors for final technical tweaks. No more major edits to the story’s plot will be made unless absolutely necessary.
…Everything Else — July, August, & September: Final technical edits, necessary paperwork, formatting tweaks, cover art, and anything else that must be completed before publication will be completed in this remaining time frame.
Publishing — November!
If you’d like to support me this year, consider buying Shadowbound if you haven’t already - or maybe get a copy for a friend or family member! - and leave a review for it on Amazon if you can.
But word-of-mouth also helps! Even if you can’t afford the book, consider checking out and sharing around the Shadowbound Audio Book & Author Commentary playlist, where I read the entire novel from beginning to end. All the readings are free up until The Manuscript is published. It’s perfect for those who want to give the story a spin before buying.
Of course, if you have thoughts, theories, hopes, critiques, or anything else about Shadowbound that you’d like to share more in-depth, drop a comment about it down below!
