The Mirror Anthology Releases Today!
Launch party: Who's going to be there? Reminder of upcoming paid content, and more!
Starting this post today hasn’t been easy. I’m excited. I’m also nervous. I have all this energy bottled up inside and I can’t wait much longer to let it out.
That being said, you read the title right. The day has arrived! The Mirror releases today!
Perhaps a hidden land, a bit of wisdom forgotten, or a wish for a different future with their human counterparts.
Join twelve bestselling, award-winning, and up-and-coming authors as they explore tales of cats peering into mirrors through supernatural, fantastical, and paranormal worlds. These authors explore the relationships of mothers and daughters, family life, friendships, and marriages strengthened or disrupted by the powers of cats and a looking glass. Ghosts, gangsters, dreamwalkers, vampires, and whisper ones are supporting casts to these amazing tales of what cats and humans can see and accomplish within a mirror.
Thank you to all those who have preordered - we were actually the #1 best selling anthology on Amazon for about a day - and I hope that with the book’s launch we’ll get many more sales going into the future.

Call for Reviews
I’ve been working behind the scenes sending out emails to reviewers that may or may not want to leave a review on both Amazon and their own websites. Yes, that’s right. If you’re a reviewer that got an email about The Mirror from March 1st up until now, that was me! Well, the first one, anyways.
If you’re a reviewer and would like a copy of the eBook for a review for your blog, please reach out to me through my Substack Chat, or leave a comment below, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Preferably if you can link to your blog and/or where to get in contact with you, that would be great as it’d save me some research time.
If you don’t own a book review blog but can still leave a review on Amazon, please do so. Amazon reviews help the book immensely in the Amazon algorithm to get more people’s eyes on it, and we writers always look forward to reading them. It’s basically the YouTube comment section for authors.
My Thoughts on Being Published
Today I’ll be busy with more promotions across my social media accounts. I find it better to put my excitement to good use and work it off.
It’s a big day today. I think the only other day I’ll feel this excited will be the day I publish my first novel. After a while the celebration will lose it’s novelty, so I better celebrate now rather than later.
On specifically being published, I… don’t really know what to think. I can say that it’s amazing, and it is amazing, but I think I’m more excited for tonight when I get to see other people. I guess I’m more in this for the social aspect rather than simply being published and being inducted as an author.
For me, being a writer has been a rather lonely profession. I didn’t talk much about my aspirations at school, and I had few friends who actually cared about my passion. Granted, these were private schools more focused on science, math, and politics, so frankly it felt a little odd at times to be an aspiring author in those environments (yes, plural; I went to multiple schools that were like this). High school was the worst, frankly. There were very few creative writing side units in English class, nor were there any proper creative writing classes (except one school) or any visiting authors for the high school kids. There were times where I snuck into the middle school building during lunchtime just so I could meet a visiting author, and even more times where I could have done so but chickened out at the last minute. That was when I was still deciding on whether or not I should pursue being an author as my future career, making some of those conversations a little… awkward, to say the least.
So yes, you could say I’m more in it for the social aspect, at least for now. I’ve thought a lot about hosting signings and read-alouds at Barnes & Noble. I want to see the smiles of the people who enjoy what I write, not just sit behind a screen and churn out content endlessly.
I am very lonely :)
Launch Party!
I’m going to have some homemade pizza tonight with my family before the launch party. Anyone else like pineapple pizza? I think that it’s a great way to force one’s self to consume some fruit.
Tonight at 6:30pm PST / 9:30pm EST, I’ll be attending The Mirror anthology launch party! It’s happening digitally over Zoom, so be sure to bring a couple snacks with you. Below is the list of all the authors in the anthology:
Who will and will not make an appearance tonight remains to be seen. For those that do show up - I will 100% be there - we’ll be reading out portions of our shorts in order of the shorts in the book itself. That means I’m going to be one of the last people to read tonight.
If you’re a paid subscriber, you’ll be getting a link to attend the launch party later on this evening. For those that are not paid subscribers yet and would like to join the launch party and gain access to future paid exclusive posts, sign up is only $5/month, or if you click the button below any time between now and the end of April you’ll be able to get 20% off your first annual subscription.
Upcoming Paid Content
This is just a friendly reminder of upcoming paid content for the paid subscribers.
If you’d like for me to do a digital signing event for The Mirror, please leave a comment below. I’d like to see how much demand there is for such an event before I start planning it.
Sometime in early April I’d like to do a private meet-and-greet, probably also a live writing workshop as well. More details to come but that is currently in the works. It will also run on EST, probably on a Saturday for any overseas folks. Make sure to check your time zone converters in advance!
Other important upcoming paid exclusive content I will announce as they pop up.
That’s all for now! Hope to see some of you at the launch party tonight!
