Who am I?
Hello, dear reader! My name is Miriya, but online I go by Storm. I’m a third culture kid who largely grew up living in Europe, Africa, and Asia. Due to all of my family’s misadventures across the globe, I grew an affinity for storytelling with a side of video games to keep me sane.
I’ve been writing since 6th grade on a variety of different platforms and in various different mediums. I’ve dabbled in just about everything, from poetry to (failed) vella projects to short student films, I just want to see how many ways I can tell a fun and interesting story.
While Substack really isn’t the most ideal place for a writer like myself, I still give any and all writing platforms a try, no matter the typical audience (unless the platform is trying to scam me) as my goal is to simply provide a little bit of fantasy escapism.
My style is still evolving, and I’m still learning. Up until now, I’ve pretty much been self-taught and always would like feedback on any work I produce. Writing is a two-way street, after all.
What do I Write?
I’ve done a little bit from every genre in the past, but I mostly enjoy and focus on writing young adult fantasy and science fiction stories. I excel in character dialogue, or so I have been told, and aim to improve on my overall narrative pacing.
Monetization: It’s all Free! (for now)
Paid subscriptions are open, at least for readers to provide monetary support for my writing. The monthly plan is only $5 and is currently a small way of saying “thank you”, kind of like a tip.
Any paid-exclusive content will largely extend to Author’s Corner, and will also grant early reader access in the future, such as for full chapter and art sneak-peaks of upcoming novel releases.
I will guarantee that all creative writing projects written exclusively for Substack will remain free to read. If a project is planned on being published outside of Substack then the entire project may likely start out as or later become paid-exclusive.
No matter what happens in the future with paid content, I will constantly aim to provide the best narrative experience I can give.
