We Blessed few, descended from the [Great Shadow / First Wizards] the power of miracles. We gather here [on this island / at this table] to celebrate in His honor, and here we gather for an age to come. To learn and live under His care, we thank Him for these gifts.
The beginning of the speech given by the First Storm wizard and king of Korodon and dinner prayer variant.
Lads and lasses, gather round, Save your sleep, the news has sound! The captain now has made his plan, We return swiftly to land! Hi-ho! Hi-ho! Raise a drink and cheer! Hi-ho! Hi-ho! The voyage’s end is near! With haste we sail over the waves, Our bodies sore yet our souls saved. Light the lanterns, ring the bell, Cut the rope and release the sail! Hi-ho! Hi-ho! Raise a drink and cheer! Hi-ho! Hi-ho! The voyage’s end is near! We work all through the eve To bring ourselves more speed. We hope for landfall at first light, So let us drink and sing all night! Hi-ho! Hi-ho! Raise a drink and cheer! Hi-ho! Hi-ho! The voyage’s end is near!
A drinking song sung by sailors, namely those on merchant vessels, as they set off to return home at the end of a long voyage. This is usually accompanied by a night of revelry on deck, though this tradition has since changed.
Notes on Common Metals and Magic Synergy
Iron (white) → Top until Shaft 47: Whiteiron cannot even be heated by magical fire, but melts easily in a regular coal-burning forge. The small needle fashioned out of the test sample barely worked as a focus and Rodric nearly ended up self-combusting.
Iron (grey) → Shaft 47 and downward: Greyiron has the complete opposite effect as Whiteiron, manipulated by only magical means and a useful focus. It also has a melodic ring to it when struck with another piece of metal.
Gold → Shaft 12 until Shaft 61: The gold found seems to all be the same type; multiple samples we tested from different shafts exhibited the same properties. While not ideal as a focus, the metal can be manipulated with magic.
Silver → Shaft 80: I presume the silver deposits stretch much farther down into Frostfall Mountain with how little there is on this layer. Though sparse, the silver we managed to scrape together displayed the best synergistic properties. It’s helped to not only focus our energy, but also direct it easier. While Storm magic is usually inaccurate most of the time, Kyle was able to strike a target 7/10 times with his lightning while holding the silver.
Copper → Shaft 12 until Shaft 20: While responsive to and malleable using magic, it has a different reaction to the different branches. For Storm, it can transfer the lightning from one end to the other. For Fire, it simply melts. For Life, it glows. Illusion is the only branch that appears to have no effect on the ore. Its reaction for other branches has yet to be explored.
And excerpt from the Frostfall Expedition. Rodric (Fire), Kyle (Storm), Ulia (Life), and Jerr (Illusion) embarked on the journey to research the mountain and it’s many metals and gemstones. Sadly, the mission came to an end when Jerr, the lead surveyor, was crushed to death in the Shaft 80 Incident.

An old flier once pinned to the community boards around Port San Ovila. These rules are part of the “Guarding Light Act”, or the “Suppression of Magical Heritage Act” as known to the wizards living under Guardian rule.
