As I write this, it just occurred to me that I have The Manuscript formatted for physical print, but I don’t have it formatted for the ebook! Which is funny, because Shadowbound was formatted for ebook first and physical print second.
On one hand, I should do it now and get it over with. On the other, I fear copy and pasting edits from one version to the other will break something and overwriting files this important makes me nervous. But either way, it will have to get done eventually1.
But in other news, the editors have been contacted and copies have been passed on with the deadline of August 1st. So for the time being…
We wait!
I have two very amazing editors whom both helped me with Shadowbound. Now, that’s not to say that everything had been caught with Shadowbound before it went to print, but they had found 98% of all my other mistakes, so I’m confident in their combined might getting The Manuscript as spiffy as possible!
I don’t expect to do much in July besides managerial work, though if I have the time in between living life I might get started on the final book in The Astria Trilogy while I wait for the edits to come back and for the cover to be complete. No paperwork will be started until August. And, quite frankly, the paperwork will have plenty of time to be completed, presuming I don’t horribly procrastinate until the last week of September that is.
And (preferrably) by the end of August I’ll be ready to properly reveal the title of The Manuscript itself at the very least.
If you’d like to support me this year, consider buying Shadowbound if you haven’t already - or maybe get a copy for a friend or family member! - and leave a review for it on Amazon if you can.
But word-of-mouth also helps! Even if you can’t afford the book, consider checking out and sharing around the Shadowbound Audio Book & Author Commentary playlist, where I read the entire novel from beginning to end. All the readings are free up until The Manuscript is published. It’s perfect for those who want to give the story a spin before buying.
Of course, if you have thoughts, theories, hopes, critiques, or anything else about Shadowbound that you’d like to share more in-depth, drop a comment about it down below!
And don’t forget to like and subscribe ;)
I would add “Dare I say, it’d be easy to do”, but I have just spent a good half hour trying to format it from print to digital and it’s not quite as easy as I was thinking it would be. But I would like to post this update first before I continue to fiddle with it.
